Janos Decsenyi (1927– )
The basis of the solo viola work's construction is the well-known permutation of the combinatorics. Both its rhythm and its scales are derived from a single fundamental figure. The title (circle = geometrical circle ) refers to the fact that after going through the rows made from the permutation, the work ends by returning to the row that began the piece – thus closing the circle.
